Si j'avais envie d'être heureux (If I'd like to be happy) was commissioned 2006 by the November Music festival and premiered by the Thelema Trio. At one point in this piece a poem by Michel Houellebecq is recited. In his poem he draws a connection between the original pleasures of an autistic mind playing with plastic toys until the age of sixty and the original pleasures of TV romaticism: sex, mercy and social life. Although I'm not following the zapping idea there is a certain confusion intended which is achieved by drastic changes of music styles. These are all styles I love, these are my „plastic toys“ and I feel a long existent urge to bring them all together into one piece in order to achieve a „comprehensive impression of reality“, as Houellebecq writes in his poem.
